About Us
Mission Statement
The Mission of the Keep It Together Foundation is to monetarily assist those individuals or families who have lost a family member or loved one to an act of abuse or violence. We will provide positive reinforcement and outside resources to support growth in ethics, values, spirituality and self esteem.
How it all Started
In life we would love for the journey to be smooth with no roadblocks or bumps, but it would not be called life if there were no detours from time to time. We truly believe that there is no family that has gone without experiencing the sorrow and heartache of losing a loved one, but it takes strong will, a heroic mind, and self-determination to persevere beyond having a loved one taken away from you by way of abuse, or at the hands of violence. She was 29 when the Founder received the call that her mother was murdered. Left with two minor siblings she knew that she would need determination, family and prayer to continue life’s journey. Early on Tamala realized that she was truly blessed and often thought of those who were not as fortunate financially, emotionally and spiritually. She was compelled to help the grandmother who needed help with rent money, the mom whose child was left fatherless, or the older sister who just needed someone to say, “You can do this. Keep It Together.” With such passion to help others The Keep It Together Non-Profit Foundation was started in February of 2009.
